Last week, the Portuguese Arbitration Association (APA) organised an event focused on the recently amended ICSID Rules and Regulations. The event took place at Biblioteca da Rainha at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served also as a book lauch of the first article-to-article commentary to the said Rules and Regulations.
The first panel comprised Prof. Dr. Patrícia Galvão Teles, Director of the Legal Department of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Dr. Dário Moura Vicente, APA’s President, and Mr. Gonzalo Flores, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Centre for
Settlement of Investment Disputes.
The second panel, moderated by João Vilhena Valério, APA’s Executive Secretary, comprised
Dr. Richard Happ (Luther), one of the co-editors of the article-to-article commentary, Ms. Koh Swee Yen SC (WangPartnership) and Dr. Lars Markert (Nishimura and Asahi), both co-authors of the book.
APA is grateful to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for hosting this event and to the speakers for their expert contributions. A word of appreciation is also due to the supporting organisations - ICSID, PT-VYAP and Delos – and to the audience.

Na semana passada, a Associação Portuguesa de Arbitragem (APA) organizou um evento sobre o novo Regulamento do Centro Internacional de Resolução de Diferendos de Investimento (CIRDI). O evento teve lugar na Biblioteca da Rainha, Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros (MNE), tendo nessa ocasião ocorrido também o lançamento do primeiro comentário artigo-a-artigo do novo Regulamento.
O primeiro painel contou com intervenções da Prof. Dr. Patrícia Galvão Teles, Diretora do Departamento de Assuntos Jurídicos do MNE, do Prof. Dr. Dário Moura Vicente, Presidente da APA, e do Dr. Gonzalo Flores, Secretário-Geral Adjunto do CIRDI.
O segundo painel, moderado pelo Dr. João Vilhena Valério, Secretário Executivo da APA, foi composto pelo Dr. Richard Happ (Luther), um dos co-editores do comentário artigo-a-artigo, pela Dra. Koh Swee Yen SC (WangPartnership) e pelo Dr. Lars Markert (Nishimura and Asahi), ambos co-autores da obra.
