Marking an important milestone in the process of reviewing and modernising ICSID's key rules for resolving international investment disputes, on 20 January 2022, the Centre submitted a comprehensive package of amendments to these rules for a vote by the Governing Council - ICSID's governing body, composed of the Contracting States of the 1965 Washington Convention.
The vote is expected to take place by March 21, 2022, and if approved, the new rules will enter into force on July 1, 2022.
